Creative Brief
Cultivate is a fictitious home plant–care company around which our teacher assigned us to create a brand. We were instructed to design a logo and its elements, as well as the packaging design for at least 5 separate pieces. Along with designing the visual identity of this brand, I came up with cute language that describes the plants as "little buddies" and "tiny plants", and Cultivate is "healthcare" for the plants.
The Deliverables
The pieces I designed and delivered to my teacher are the following: Plant Tags for three different plants, Gardening Gloves with a pattern, a Flower Pot with a variation of the pattern, a Bulb Care Booklet, a Bulb kit box, a Tool Kit box, and Seed Packets for three different herbs.
The Pattern
Below are two variations of the Cultivate pattern. The one used on the Gloves has a green background and white elements on top of it. On the Flower Pot is a white background with green and pink elements on top of it.
Bulb Care Booklet
The Bulb Care Booklet has 8 pages and was designed in InDesign. It includes 6 steps for caring and tending bulbs carefully and tenderly. The instructions included in the booklet are legitimate instructions for bulb health tending.
The Process
I first designed the logo monogram in procreate, then transferred it to illustrator where I decided on the accompanying fonts. I drew the details in the C of the logo in illustrator. After I settled on the logo, I moved onto the seed packets and boxes. At that point I had developed a designed continuity and developed the other pieces and the booklet. After all the pieces were designed, then I wrote up and designed the branding standards and guidelines. I reviewed all of the pieces to make sure that they were consistent with the branding standards.
