Who I Am
I am Grace Victoria Rose Raney, and I am the designer and illustrator behind Rose & Thorn Artistry. I have a graphic design associates degree, and greatly enjoy publication design, graphic design, web design, and dabbling in traditional artwork. I live in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and studied at Washtenaw Community College. I have been designing since 2018.
My Philosophy
I am a Catholic Creative who is intent upon utilizing my design skills for the sake of beautifying the Church and its presentation to the modern person. I believe that the Lord has endowed each of us, His Children, with a creative spirit, allowing us to impart God's beauty into the World. I strive to find the balance between communicating the rich truths of Christianity and presenting them in a cohesive, attractive, and unifying way.
Behind Rose & Thorn Artistry
The philosophy behind my art identity's name comes from Anne Bronte's quote, "He who dares not grasp the thorn should never crave the rose". I believe that if we desire happiness and prosperity in life, we must be willing to sacrifice, serve and struggle for it. If we are not willing to undergo these things, then we should not dare to claim happiness.
